October 1960
Giken Gosei Jyushi Co., Ltd. was established by founder Takashi Niwa, based on his personal business, to manufacture and sell plastic molded products for automotive accessories such as motorcycle windshields. Headquarters was located at 4-33 Magome Higashi, Ota-ku, Tokyo.
August 1964
Started exclusive manufacturing and sales of patented products, Magic Curtain and Sun Shield.
June 1965
Due to business expansion, Headquarters was moved to 2-9-9 Shingashi, Itabashi-ku.
May 1968
A mass production factory was newly established in the Tachiyagawa Industrial Park, Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture (Yamagata Factory, old Building No. 1. Subsequently, Buildings No. 1 to No. 6 were newly built, expanded, and renovated).
September 1973
The company name was changed to Giken Kogyo Co., Ltd.
September 1976
The company name was changed to Giken Co., Ltd.
May 1980
With the completion of the new company building, Headquarters was moved to 2-8-24 Shingashi, Itabashi-ku, Tokyo.
February 1997
A second factory in Yamagata and the Yamagata Development Room (NC Room) were newly established.
September 1996
Giken Gosei Jyushi Co., Ltd. was established.
March 1997
A new factory was established in the Hananoki Industrial Park, Kahoku cho, Nishimurayama District, Yamagata prefecture.
May 1998
An injection molding factory building was added within the Kahoku Factory.
April 2000
A distribution center was newly established within the Kahoku Factory.
August 2002
Obtained ISO9001:2000 certification.
September 2003
Obtained ISO14001 certification (Hanamaki Factory).
June 2010
Giken Tech Co., Ltd. was established.
